Miss Nepal 2012 Application open
If you are an unmarried female Nepali citizen of age between 19-25 years (as of January 18, 2012), you might be eligible to participate in Miss Nepal 2012 beauty contest.In addition to the said criteria participant should have a minimum academic qualification of 10+2 or equivalent.
To ensure beauty, the participants are required to have a minimum height of 5 ft 4 inches and should process attractive personality, sound health and good moral character.
The application should reach the organizers by 6 pm February 23, 2012 (Falgun 11, 2068). The application should also include two photos (one full length and one close-up) of a minimum size of 5”x7” photocopies of citizenship and academic certificates.

In the 10th Republica Miss Teen Nepal organized in Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi by Kathmandu Jaycees, 19-year-old Astha Shrestha was crowned the Miss Teen Nepal 2011 title. One of the 17 participants in the contest, Astha also won Miss Personality title.
The food technology student’s following answer to the judge’s question about her message to Nepali citizen won her the title:
We need to rise and fight and make Nepal a symbol of peace and prosperity.

Samriddhi Rai represented Nepal in the Miss Tourism Queen International 2011 held recently in China. In the event, she was successful in winning a special award – Miss Personality. Bikini-clad Samriddhi looks beautiful receiving the award.
A gradate in Mass Communication and broadcast journalism, Samriddhi takes modeling and journalism parallely. Samriddhi is a sub-editor of a young people’s magazine, Teenz. She is also a reporter in Y magazine and The Kathmandu Post.

Sahana Bajracharya
Shahana Bajracharya represented Nepal in Miss Earth 2010. Sahana. She also represented Nepal in Miss Asia Pacific 2011 in which she managed to be selected to the to 15. But, she could go no further.
Her statement about her bikini photos, "…Oh dear country men, get over the bikini taboo please… " was popular at that time. Sahana is considered one of the talented model in Nepali entertainment industry.
Sahana looks fabulous in the sky blue bikini. It would have been great if she had let go of the thread (may be worn during some religious ceremony) in her right hand.

We had featured the model and actress Etna Karki in our previous post. Recently, she gave an interview in which she talked openly about sex and sex films. In contrast to the majority of Nepali models and actresses who try to portray themselves as ‘virgin’, Etna was bold to admit that she has sexual relationship with her boyfriend. Her revelation that she enjoy blue films also created a buzz in Nepal.
Time is changing and Etna represents the new generation of free and frank artists.

Binita Baral
Binita Baral is a new actress in Nepali movie industry. Although none of her movies are released yet, she is pretty popular due to various controversies she has dragged herself into.
The latest controversy involves magazine cover photos and her press conference in response. The photo was taken to be featured in the poster of her debut movie “Chapali Height”. But, after the controversy, the producers have decided to remove the photo from the poster.
